Hermit Reborn

One of my favorite bands is Metric and my favorite sport is hockey.

Both combined to create an epic moment in the outdoor Heritage Classic game last night.



That is just nuts.

From my alma mater's cross-strait rival, the University of Victoria, comes this amazing performance. WOW.

I don't often make a page that could be a blog post, but I think this deserves its own page.

Throughout this difficult week and last night's events, Twitter became a very unlikely source of support. I was absolutely shocked and surprised at how many people sent well wishes and even stayed up to keep us company until the end.

Even though the family couldn't make it back on time and I was the only one at home for this, neither Rolly nor I were alone. Rolly spent his last hours with me physically, and apparently with an army of Twitter supporters behind him as well, most of them from the fellow Anaheim Ducks fan community but also from other teams as well.

Some people stayed up for the sole purpose of keeping tabs on the situation, until the East Coast people woke up to give the West Coast people a chance to sleep. There was not a moment when Rolly and I were alone.

Rolly had an army of supporters he didn't even know, but I told him and he seemed to understand. Rolly's Army -- thank you.
